VALUABLE PHOENIX REACH
BREEDERS PRIZES ON OFFER
Breeders are to be offered the added incentive to patronise the top-class globe-trotting triple Gr.1 winning first-season sire Phoenix Reach, in the form of breeders prizes.
The seven-year-old son of classic sire Alhaarth raced in the highest company throughout his career, beating an incredible 29 individual Gr.1 winners and 23 Group winners in just 16 starts.
In a season cut short by injury, Phoenix Reach ran only once at two, before bouncing back at three with a maiden win and victory in the Gr.3 Gordon Stakes on his first two runs. He finished the year with a gutsy display to take the Gr.1 Canadian International. At four, he scored in the Gr.1 Hong Kong Vase before opening his account at five in the Gr.1 Sheema Classic.
In addition, he was Classic-placed and runner-up in the Gr.1 Singapore Airlines International Cup and amassed total earnings just shy of £2 million.
His owners, the Christou family of Winterbeck Manor Stud, have generously pledged a £10,000 prize to the breeder of each individual Listed race winning two year old in either the UK, Ireland or France, and a £25,000 prize to the breeder of each individual Group race winning two-year-old. (One prize per individual black-type winner). In light of Phoenix Reachs worldwide achievements, Graded overseas wins will be eligible for the breeders prizes.
Phoenix Reach stands at The National Stud for the 2007 season at a fee of £3,500 (1st Oct, SLF).
